Nestled within a conservation area of a designated hamlet Focus Architects were appointed to review the internal layouts of the previously permitted plans submitted under a Class Q application to change the dilapidated planning use of the existing agricultural barns into domestic open market housing.
Class Q development refers to the conversion of agricultural buildings into residential dwellings in the UK. As a complex process, it requires a thorough understanding of planning regulations, building standards, and technical expertise. RIBA architects can provide valuable assistance in navigating the challenges associated with Class Q development. They can help clients assess the feasibility of their project, design a bespoke solution that meets their needs and complies with regulations, and manage the construction process to ensure a successful outcome. With their knowledge and skills, RIBA architects can help turn a disused agricultural building into a high-quality and sustainable living space.
Read more about Class Q in our blog pages.
The main objective of the appointment was to advise the development team of the most efficient and architecturally interesting internal configurations as well as proposing an internal material aesthetic to form the basis of a pre-sales package for commercial viability testing.
Following the acceptance of Focus Architects internal layout recommendations and a positive development revenue response, our appointment progressed to see the delivery of building regulations information and introduction and management of wider consultant team, we look forward to seeing construction works at this site starting later this year, we will ad progress updates for our followers in due course.
